Google Chrome 77 has just been released and is available for download for all platforms including Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, and iOS. If you have already installed Google Chrome, then you can skip everything and update your Google Chrome installation.
The best feature of the new Chrome 77 is the customization. Now you can change the browser look and feel without downloading and installing themes. Just open a new tab in the browser and customize according to your taste.

Security fixes

EV SSL display changes
This is a major change in Google Chrome 77. Now the Extended Validation certificates will not display the company name in the address bar. Chrome 77 will only display a padlock sign for secure sites.
You can still check the certificate details but you’ll need to click on the padlock icon to get more details about the certificate security and type.

New tab background customization
I have always been a fan of Vivaldi browser because of its customizability. Now Google has come forward with at least something to customize in Chrome. The latest Chrome 77 lets you choose a background picture for the new tab.
You can choose from the list of Chrome backgrounds collection or you can also upload your own picture.
“Send This Page” to another device
With Chrome 77 on all your devices, you will be able to send open tabs to other devices you own. The only requirement is that you will need to be signed in to your Google account on all of the devices where you want to use the “Send This Page” feature.
Chrome Enterprise enhancements
As an IT geek, I’m always looking for enterprise-level new features in the Chrome browser. The new version of Chrome lets system admins define an XML file that will never trigger a browser switch.
Chrome 77 also comes with site isolation improvements to protect cross-site data such as cookies, form data, passwords etc.
Now you can also launch the guest browsing mode by simply using the -guest flag. Just run the executable from command-line like chrome.exe -guest. This will open the browser with guest mode.
Improvements for developers
