Ever since Java 8 Update 151 the newer Java installers do not run on Windows XP PRO SP3 … They really should be able to install as there are quite a few XP computers out there that needs Java … Perhaps someone can fix the installer so it will run on XP like it should.

According to Oracle’s Java system requirements page, Java 8 is not supported in Windows XP. If you want to run Java on Windows XP, you should probably look for Java 7. See the system requirements here.

I know what Java’s official position is on XP … But Java 8 Update 151 does install on XP and there is no reason that later versions should not as well. As to not running Java if I take it out some sites (games or banking / finance) may not want to load. Not sure which ones.
