Nvidia has released a new Game Ready driver version 545.84 which includes significant improvements. This driver release offers significant improvements to the RTX Video Super Resolution, that will drastically enhance your gaming experiences. Moreover, it also includes support for DLSS3 technology in new gaming titles, including “NARAKA: BLADEPOINT” and “Warhammer: Vermintide 2.”

Additionally, the updated drivers enable NVIDIA’s TensorRT AI acceleration for Stable Diffusion Web UI, enabling users of GeForce GPUs to access the AI art creator’s pictures more quickly than before. Moreover, the Stable Diffusion performance has also been increased twofold.

This driver release includes the following features and improvements:

  • DLSS 3 support for the following titles:
    • NARAKA: BLADEPOINT
    • Warhammer: Vermintide 2
  • Introduces support for RTX Video Super Resolution v1.5
  • Enable NVIDIA’s TensorRT AI acceleration for Stable Diffusion Web UI
  • Stable Diffusion performance is now up to 2X faster
  • Some monitors displaying random black screen flickering when in Display Stream Compression mode is now fixed.
  • Monitor colors displaying incorrectly after coming back from display sleep is fixed.

With these new improvements, there are also some open issues.

Open issues in GeForce graphics driver 545.84

The following issues still exist in this Nvidia release:

  • [Halo Infinite] Significant performance drop is observed on Maxwell-based GPUs.
  • A new NVIDIA icon is created in the system tray each time a user switch takes place in Windows

Follow the steps below to download and install the GeForce 545.84 Game Ready driver:

  1. Open the Nvidia GeForce Game Ready driver 545.84 page and click Download.

  2. On the next page, click Download again.

  3. Once downloaded, run the file to open the installation wizard.

  4. You will be asked for an extraction path. Once confirmed, click OK.

  5. Select the associated radio button, then click “Agree and continue.”

    Once extracted, the installation wizard will launch automatically.

    It will initially scan your system to see if it meets the minimum requirements and to detect the graphics card. On the next screen, select whether you want to install the driver only, or also opt for the GeForce Experience.

  6. Now, select the type of installation and click Next.

    We suggest that you choose “Express Installation.”

  7. When the installation completes, click Close.

How to uninstall Nvidia drivers

If for some reason you wish to uninstall the graphics driver, here is how to do so:

  1. Press the Windows Key + i shortcut keys to open the Settings app.

  2. Click Apps.

  3. Then click “Installed apps” on the right.

  4. Search and click on “NVIDIA Windows Display Drivers” from the list of programs.

  5. Click the Uninstall button.

  6. Click Uninstall again.

You can also completely remove old drivers that are no longer in use.

How to rollback/downgrade Nvidia drivers

If you have not removed the old Nvidia drivers manually and want to downgrade or roll back to the older version of the driver, you can easily do it using the Device Manager. Just follow the steps below to rollback NVIDIA drivers:

  1. Press the Windows Key + R shortcut keys to open the Run Command box.

  2. Type in “devmgmt.msc” and press Enter to open the Device Manager.

  3. Click “Display Adapters” to expand it.

  4. Right-click the NVIDIA driver and then click Properties.

  5. Switch to the “Driver” tab.

  6. Click “Roll Back Driver.”

Please note that if there is no old driver available in the Windows cache, the “Roll Back Driver” button will be greyed out. Also, Windows only stores one previous version of a driver, so you can only roll back to the one installed before the latest update.
