Hi. I bought an HP laptop, Windows 10 in Mexico with the Spanish language as the default. English language pack was not installed. I downloaded the English language pack for US English and tried to install it manually by running lpksetup. Although I can see and browse to the language pack, the following message is displayed, “This language cannot be installed on this equipment” (loosely translated!) Windows 10 version 1511 build 10586.679. Thanks

Hello we are in Peru for a period of time and recently bought a lenovo yoga 500 laptop. When we set it up for the first time we choose united states and english as our defaults but it wont ever completely chance, some things being in english and most in spanish. If you click on the english language tab it says (searching windows update). Also I just seen that the edition is Windows 10 Home Single Language… So are we out of luck to switch to english??

When I click on ‘region and language,’ the screen disappears. The default language is now in Chinese, so getting around is difficult.

I have a ThinkPad T450s with Chinese as a default language. Obviously, I want English as my default. When I click on ‘Region and Language,’ the screen disappears. Because everything is in Chinese, I have no idea what to do next.

“Connect to the internet to check for language packs.” when I try to switch to Canadian English. Been getting this error for months. Cortana is, of course, broken as a result. Frustrating.

I followed all of your steps by using the run command, installing to the lpksetup in the run command. However, i received a message that said that the display language cannot be changed. Do you know how to solve this problem?
    Thank you for your time

are these links valid for 10240 / 1507 or 10586 / 1511 ? Would be nice to be more precise on that point, especially when the 1607 is around the corner.
The English link refers to a package for build 10532 and refuse to install on 10586. What does an insider build here??

I have just added Hebrew as a language to which I occasionally switch for greetings to persons who speak that language. It does now appear as an installed language in the Time and Language area of Settings. How can I toggle between these languages (within a document) when I wish to do so? Thank you.

I can’t install the Spanish language pack on my Win 10 laptop – either using Windows Update or manually from your file. When using Windows Update to download, the download will look like it’s starting, and then suddenly stop and go missing. Then it’ll start searching for update again, and the process repeats.

I can install German, French, Italian, Japanese and Chinese, but not Spanish. This is really baffling.

Hi, I’m having similar issues to people below

I have bought a laptop here in Peru and so my default display language is Spanish but I want to change it to English. I have tried both installation methods demonstrated above but am still having issues, when I try lpksetup when I find the .cab file after browsing I get a message “the language cannot be installed” but in Spanish – any ideas?

    Thanks

People who post portuguese language in brasilian way, and ignore the original portuguese language, from Portugal, must be sick in the head…

I disagree. I’m from the United States and our spoken English is NOT identical to the UK… the “original” English language. It’s has a name, it’s called “Dialect”… you should go look up the definition and learn something before calling others sick in the head for desiring to use their own “dialect”.

Hi. I have a windows 10 laptop, and I tried installing the Japanese language pack manually using the one I downloaded here. When I selected the file, it says that the language pack is invalid. I hope someone comes up with a solution for this. Thanks.
