Protractor Lifecycle: End Of Life And Support Status
Last updated on January 26, 2024
Protractor is an end-to-end testing framework for Angular and AngularJS. Protractor simulates user interaction with your application by running tests against it in an actual browser.
Support status guide
End of life (EOL) is the end of a product’s useful life. When a product reaches the end of its life cycle, the manufacturer no longer supports it. The following table explains the different phases of a product’s lifecycle. Testing status is when the product is initially released and EOL is when product support is no longer offered. The time between these two points is the support timeframe.

The Protractor framework has been officially deprecated as of 31st August 2023. This decision was announced by the Angular team. However, the framework still received commercial support after the announcement by the HeroDevs team.
That said, there has been no new release since May 2020, and will continue to remain so. You can still use the Protractor framework and keep it safe through the commercial support.
