What’s new in Firefox 123
Mozilla Firefox v123 includes a few new features and support, which are as follows:
- The built-in language translator has been improved to translate the text in the titles (tooltips) and in the form controls, or placeholders.
- The search results from the Omnibox have been improved. You can now choose the search engine you want to use directly from the search box.
- The Network Monitor has been updated to support saving a response body to disk through the new “Save Response As” context menu item. This option has replaced the “Save Image” option in the context menu which only allowed images to be saved.
- LinearRGB interpolation for SVG gradients has been implemented which gives the developers more flexibility and better ergonomics.
- Firefox 123 includes full support for Early Hints via Preload and Modulepreload support. Support for declarative ShadowDOM has also been included.
- Firefox 123 enables developers to use audio echo cancellation on microphone inputs in cases when
setSinkId()
is used to redirect the audio output to a different device. - A fallback technique has been added that uses the default replacement element values of 300 pixels for width and 150 pixels for height to prevent SVG feImage elements from failing to display.
Mozilla is yet to release the Release Notes for Firefox 123, which are being prepared at the moment. Once they’re available, you can check out the precise security improvements.
